This deliciously creamy keto chicken alfredo recipe is super easy to make in the slow cooker. It’s low carb with juicy chunks of chicken, cream, and two types of cheese.

Last week, we really enjoyed my low-carb adaptation of Middlesbrough’s classic, the Chicken Parmo.
And the flavours aren’t too dissimilar to this keto chicken alfredo recipe I ate in an American restaurant a few years ago.
So, again, I thought I’d adapt it, which is equally as tasty for anyone in your household to enjoy with pasta. Or, if you’re like me, with a leafy green salad!


Where Does Alfredo Originate From?
Firstly, my adapted keto chicken alfredo sauce goes against the traditional recipe, created by Alfredo Di Lelio in Rome, 1914.
The original Fettuccine all’Alfredo recipe traditionally consists of fettucine, parmigiano and butter. There’s no double cream in sight.
However, for us low-carb keto dieters, I’ve added double cream and cheeses for a creamier, satisfying sauce to make up for the absense of pasta.

Low Carb Chicken Alfredo Steps
It’s super easy to make this easy keto alfredo chicken in the slow cooker in just a few steps!
Simply:
- Add all but the basil, cream cheese, and parmesan to the slow cooker
- Cover and cook on high for 3-4 hours or low for 6-7 hours
- Stir in the basil, parmesan, and double cream until combined.
- Serve with your favourite low-carb sides, such as zucchini noodles or a leafy green salad!


Other Ways to Make It
There are a few other ways you can make an Alfredo keto recipe, for example:
Keto Alfredo Chicken Bake
If preferred, you could follow the method in my recipe card and bake in the oven at 200 degrees / 180 degrees Celcius (fan) / gas mark 6 / 356F for 30 minutes. Then stir in the remaining ingredients before serving.
Keto Chicken Alfredo Casserole
Alternatively, you could add parboiled or steamed cauliflower and broccoli, then bake in the oven. Try not to overcook them beforehand as they will break up in the dish.
