Living in the South, we usually get about two weeks of spring weather and then jump into full-on summer temps. We’ve had that breezy porch-sitting weather lately, and I’ve loved every second of it. I try my best to spend most mornings outside gardening, playing at the park, going on walks, and having a little pool time, and then we come back for lunch. If it’s nice out, I’ll make a big food tray and sit out on the porch to eat. It’s funny how my toddler could care less about the food inside, but he eats it as soon as it’s laid out like a charcuterie board on the porch. It’s a win for both of us.
Last week, I made a tray of sourdough sandwiches, cucumbers, raspberries, blueberries, oranges, apples, and cashews with chocolate chips, chips, and pickles. We washed it down with our favorite sparkling water, The Waterloo tropical punch. Have you had that new flavor yet? It’s all I can think about!
The sandwiches were made of my EASY sourdough bread recipe (you can find the recipe here!), mayonnaise, avocado, white cheddar cheese, bacon, honey ham, honey-roasted turkey, lettuce, cucumber, red onion, heirloom tomatoes, and red bell peppers.
After being spoiled with sourdough bread, it’s so hard having sandwiches or toast on anything but!
My goal for this week is to make homemade baguettes using my sourdough bread recipe, so stay tuned!
